Latest pay and labour statistics:

  • The UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 0.3 per cent in the year to February 2016, unchanged from January 2016. This maintains the position seen over the last few months of a rate which is a little above zero.
  • From October 2016 the new national minimum wage hourly rates for workers aged 21-24 years old will increase from £6.70 to £6.95, 18-20 years old will increase from £5.30 to £5.55, 16-17 years old will increase from £3.87 to £4.00 and apprentice minimum wage will increase from £3.30 to £3.40.
