Working closely with Paydata’s Marketing Manager, we have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Apprentice to join the Sales and Marketing Team. The role holder will carry out a broad mix of marketing activities to help promote Paydata’s products and services, in accordance with agreed business plans.
About the role
The Marketing Apprentice will become a key member of the Paydata team, offering the right candidate the opportunity to experience a wide range of marketing activities and make a valued contribution to an energetic team. The role holder will work within and contribute to the following areas:
Marketing strategy
Assist with the delivery of planned marketing activities in accordance with the marketing plan.
Ensure all marketing activities support and communicate our values, brand strategy and corporate vision.
Liaise and attend sales and marketing meetings with relevant members of staff, necessary to perform duties.
Digital and social media marketing
Assist with maintaining our social media presence, identifying, qualifying and maximising opportunities.
Assist with drafting content, as well as the co-ordination and distribution of regular customer email communications.
Maintain and update contact distribution lists of existing and potential customers.
SEO
Liaising with our SEO provider, to help determine and implement the SEO strategy.
Review and assess the success of the SEO/online strategy.
Collate SEO trends for management meetings.
Website
Maintain website content and identify areas for improvement/development.
Assist with drafting, co-ordinating and publishing new content.
Liaising with our web developers where necessary, to resolve any website issues.
Event management
Co-ordinate regular customer HR Group meetings and webinars:
Book and liaise with venues.
Co-ordinate email / calendar invitations, including maximising attendance through email communications.
Communicating with attendees (answering queries, collecting agenda items) in the run-up to the meetings.
Preparing meeting and marketing literature for each meeting.
Executing follow-up meeting communications.
Research
Carry out competitor and customer research on a periodic basis to ensure companies’ marketing strategy and planned activities remain relevant to current market requirements.
Researching customer contacts to support planned marketing activities.
Database management
Assist with maintaining our customer database, including:
List management.
Campaign creation/management (to support marketing activities).
Maintenance and management of data.
Miscellaneous
The apprentice will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within their capabilities.
Skills required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to communicate with people at all levels both internally and externally.
Good problem-solving skills.
Organised and methodical and with an eye for detail.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of online marketing platforms (Twitter, Linkedin, PPC, etc.), WordPress and Workbooks would be an advantage, but not essential, as training can be provided.

Qualification to be undertaken: Digital Marketing - Level 3 Training provider: Peterborough Regional College Expected duration: 18 month apprenticeship, leading to a possible permanent position. Hours: 37.5 hours per week (including study day release)
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity for the position to become permanent.
