Latest Pay and Labour Market Statistics May 2022:

• The Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) rose by 7.8% in the 12 months to April 2022, up from 6.2% in March.
• The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 9.0% in the 12 months to April 2022, up from 7.0% in March.
• The UK employment rate increased by 0.1 percentage points on the quarter to 75.7%.
• The unemployment rate for January to March 2022 decreased by 0.3 percentage points on the quarter to 3.7%.
• The number of job vacancies in February to April 2022 rose to 1,295,000.
• Growth in employees' average total pay (including bonuses) was 7.0% and growth in regular pay (excluding bonuses) was 4.2% in January to March 2022.
