Funds were boosted by the sale of raffle tickets, with prizes kindly donated from many local businesses including Craft Gin Club, LNER, Railworld, Planet Ice UK, Laserforce, Bosworths Garden Centre, Big Sky Soft Play centre, Tap and Tandoor, Stagecoach and wufwuf.co.uk. A massive thank you to all.
The quiz night marks our prenultimate charitable activity for 2019, having had another busy year fundraising via a 20km charity walk (on the hottest day of the year!), an Easter bake sale, our ‘February Footfall’ steps challenge and a charity football league.
With our festive bell-ringing still to go, we are excited to see what our final fundraising total be.
The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust was chosen as our charity of the year as with ongoing budget cuts, trusts are having to rely on charitable funds to supplement the vital work that they do. The North West Anglia NHS Trust Charity exists to support the Trust in providing the best possible healthcare to patients. Funds raised allow them to raise standards above the level that NHS funding alone allows, such as funding equipment and staff education above what is funded by the NHS, funding medical research and improving the overall welfare of patients.
