Latest pay and labour market statistics June 2018:
The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month rate was 2.4 per cent in May 2018, unchanged from April 2018;
The employment rate (the proportion of people aged from 16 to 64 years who were in work) was 75.6 per cent, higher than for a year earlier (74.8 per cent) and the joint highest since comparable records began in 1971; and,
Total average earnings increased by 2.5 per cent including bonuses and it also increased by 2.5 per cent excluding bonuses in the 12 months up to March 2018.
