Latest pay and labour market statistics November 2018:
The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month rate was 2.4 per cent in October 2018, unchanged from September 2018.
The employment rate (the proportion of people aged from 16 to 64 years who were in work) was 75.5 per cent, little changed compared with April to June 2018 but higher than for a year earlier (75.0 per cent).
Total average earnings increased by 2.8 per cent including bonuses and it also increased by 3.2 per cent excluding bonuses in the 12 months up to June 2018.
